最美麗的樹

不知道是不是因為昨天融入櫻桃花景象的關係,
今天老爺唸了這首詩給我聽!

Loveliest of Trees

A. E. Housman, 1859 - 1936

 

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now   
Is hung with bloom along the bough,   
And stands about the woodland ride   
Wearing white for Eastertide.   
   
Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,   
And take from seventy springs a score,   
It only leaves me fifty more.   
   
And since to look at things in bloom   
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go   
To see the cherry hung with snow.

我想老爺是有感而發!

櫻桃花每年都會開,

但是人的生命卻是有限!

所以人這輩子可以看到櫻桃盛開的次數實在有限!

老爺說:

"如果我可以活到90歲,

那麼,

我只剩下18年又八個月的時間耶!"

老爺這番話說的倒讓我有些害怕!

我知道我很幸運,

可以生活在這樣的花草世界!

但是我更幸運的是,

1995年時真正的認識了Richard Poulsen這個人!!!
